awesome resource management game, where you have to buy natural resources and use them to fuel your powerplants to power your cities.

Very fun!!!!

some dudes where playing Power Grid at the store a couple of weeks back. Looks like a pretty strong game. I was annoying them by telling the one dude that owned three Nuke plants to just "hit the red button!"

I agree, it is a great game. They need to release more maps though, we have the US and Germany pretty well figured out.
Oh, and my nickname when we play it is "Trash King".

I keep wanting to play it and now that the second edition is out and available I may have to pick it up and see if I can get a group together.

I have to admit I wasn't a big fan when I first tried it. But that's more due to the fact that resource management games are not my cup of tea.

They have released more maps. They have France and Italy. Italy is a brutal game as space is constrained and conection costs are hefty. They also have Central Europe/ Benelux. Benelux being Belgium the Netherlands and Luxemburg. Benelux is a very quick game.

They have also released an expansion deck of Power Plants. But after one play I can't help feeling that the plants are just too efficient and they change the game a little too much. Resources are not as tight which is one of the great things about the game is that there never seems to be enough resources to go around in at least one of the resource types.

The game is not for everyone, but I love it. It is easily my favorite game. I have never passed on playing a game of Power Grid and have taught the game to more people than I can even remember. In fact I can't wait to play it again.
