I haven't played confrontation 3.x for many moons, but this weekend, we're planning an epic 800pt. game. I'm bypassing Sulfur and taking the original Golborak for the first time. Anyone ever have any success with him (or otherwise)? Playing against undead, so my army will be running sideways off the board... but at least I won't be losing full units

Golborak is awesome! Make sure you pimp him right. All his tech + stone of survival. He's great!

That was errata'd in the 3rd Edition rulebook. Also, his Leadership/30 should help out some against the Living Dead. Throw him in an Uraken list, give him a War Staff and the Uraken Ideogram of Protection and you're talking about 'fearless' Goblins and a leader with RES 12 and a Survival Instinct 5+.

I forgot all about the errata! Stupid rules, getting in the way of awesomeness! The Ideogram is a good call since the Stone is out. good times!

Golborak didn't do much for the first 2/3 of the game, he did smack down the cerberus though... Afterwards we rolled out him vs. the grand crane (they ended the game about a base-length apart). G-gob got lucky and rolled a 5 on the incident chart and still just barely made it out alive :) My opponent remembered why he stopped playing

Yeah, that is the normal "way it goes" with Massive Characters...at least in my experience. They are all hype...and in the end, nothing special happens. Unless you run Nehkar the Estatic....with all his toys. I watched him eat through 800 AP in three rounds. Good times!

We did a huge Living Legend Battle, once, and the Grand Crane killed Drac twice (4 times if you count his belt), the female Kelt leader, and the Griffen LL (whose name escapes me at the moment,). He was hell on bones.
