Yep...time for that thread to make it's way on the TTG forums. Time to represent and let everyone know what you've been working on. Especially in time for Convention season.

This mornings work

Assembled 10 bloodletters of Khorne from the New Daemons box.

Cleaned up the Bloodletter on Juggernaught and "Skulltaker" Bloodletter champion

Filled the gaps on my Sould Grinder, primed and base coated the figure in a Nurgly type skin tone. Not sure if it will be the final color or not. I'm taking a lot more WIP pics of my stuff. Mostly to use later.

Yea, that Soul Grinder's looking good.

Personally, I've been painting Alkemy as of late. Hope to have Aurloks done by the end of the week and will then most likely move on to my Avalonians, maybe work on Hell Dorado Westerners.

I've been kinda slacking lately, but currently on the painting table is 3 Morats with combis, and my PanO Cutter.

Hopefully after this weekend I'll get back into the swing of things.

Painting my Yu Jing, including new starter, to have them ready for Cons. Now everything I have YJ has paint on it, with most of them actually nearing the highlight and wash stage.

Practicing with foam cutter and doing 'proof of concept' work for the Ice Chasm boards for the Infinity tournements. I discovered that a foam cutter will cut glued together foam sheets, and that I can make a ramp go up the chasm wall. Next I'll be shaping the top surface of the foam to make a more rolling groung. The next thing is trying to figure out how I'm going to finish the foam in a way that doesn't melt it.

Other than that I'm going through the Alpha Omega rulebook.

Been working on my Grateful Undead WFB army - you can check out the pictures here : http://puggimer.net/gratefulundead.htm

I have two units of skeletons (one in top hats and canes, the other with roses (though I'm keeping the shields off to paint separately)), the wraiths & banshee (groupies), a corpse cart (souvenier cart) and half the ghouls (roadies) built. I'm going magic heavy, so the skeletons, ghouls and zombies will all have twice the number of models I'll start with (actually I have enough for at least 80 zombies, though I'm only starting with 20, but I can always start a new unit).

I picked up some modelling dollies to begin the work in the dire wolves (dancing teddy bears) soon as the ghouls are finished.

Still need the 40mm GF9 magnetic bases for the spirit hosts. And I have only assembled 3 zombies (deadheads - will all be in jeans and tie-dyed) so far (I had an idea to have the holding up lights (i.e. lighters) but I haven't ordered the tiny Grain-of-sand bulbs I would need (especially because I don't know if it will even work, and hate to commit the $$ to buying these on the internet without being able to know if it will even work first)).

The characters will be Jerry Garcia and the band, of course.

Um. not much. Things have gotten busy or my brain is on other stuff. That said the source of the stress (my girlfriend has been ill) will be visiting her parents out of town for a week so I hope to get going hardcore tomorrow evening.

I finished assembling the last bit of my Sarrasins and got them primed, just need Layla and the new Dibbukim. Hoping to do some painting on their bases this weekend, maybe start flesh. I am stuck on an overall colour scheme.

Finished assembling some Dark Age Minis I had sitting around for awhile. Need tp finish some bases and paint a couple more for my 750 point X'Treme Immortal list.

Finishing up my Caskuda so he can be ready to paint. Still trying to decide what to bring to GenCon as I have 4 factions, though the Ariadna are all in blister.

I am a naughty monkey. Whistle I've got SOOOO much stuff that needs to be assembled and cleaned at the very least. Gregdorf and I are going to take a day and try to get most of that knocked out soon. As for painting. Hmm, well how do I say this. I don't do it. I can paint to a pretty decent standard, but I'm not very skilled so it takes me FOREVER to get it to a point I consider acceptable and even for skirmish armies that's time I don't have. So I bribe Gregdorf to do it for me because he kicks all kinds of @$$ AND is way faster than I am. If he has time I'll have my Infinity Nomads ready for GenCon and hopefully some Helldorado Westerners.

There were horses and a man on fire and I killed a guy with a trident!

Let's see here... been working on the terrain for the up coming conventions when I can... right now I am in the last week or so of my school year so I have been drawing and sculpting like a mad fool, trying to squeeze in papers and get ready for my final review (note the final review is when you put up 15-25 pieces of your work from the year and have three professors tell you how much you suck... good times)... man... art school is for suckers.

Wow, I just had a flash back to my school days. It gets better after graduation MG. You get to take your portfolio to every art house, studio, and graphic surplus store; and they all tell you the same thing, well it is ok but we need someone with 5 years in the field. But once you get your foot in the door, you get to create all kinds of goofy art projects for someone that knows nothing about art or design but demands that you design their project exactly to the sample they put together with their windows word file.

Current projects, well I am working on a demo board, I may try to take some pictures of it and post it some time soon. I have been working on my Ariadna stuff, and it sounds like I have a number of other projects

Busy weekend. Friday night I painted the bases and then all the flesh tons one my Brood models, except for the Broodlings as I'm waiting for the 2nd pack to do them all at once.

Saturday evening I ended up painting the Panther for my HellDorado Sarrasins. Tricky paintng that black.

Then this afternoon at the LGS, I painted the flesh on the Lancer and 2 Pillars of Faith. And then I painted the Djinn all blue tones.

And the evening is still young...

Yeah, I am soooooo glad that I have no desire to be a gallery artist (the fine arts scene makes me want to die a little bit)... Right now I am interning with a toy sculptor named Paul Brooke. He worked for Kenner and Hasbro and is now freelancing. He did some of the newer Star Wars, both old and new G.I. Joes, and a bunch of other stuff. If everything goes well he is going to hire me as his assistant sculptor (major foot in the door, as this man is connected... People send him work and he never really has to look for projects).

Speaking of goofy designs, while I have been working for Paul we have received some pretty interesting toy requests that no child, parent or adult would ever buy... But what do we care? They still have to pay Paul a few grand for the sculpt.cheesygrin

Yesterday I assembled Jade Triad and Aurlok starter boxes. All of the Jade Triad figs have paint on them. While detailed, these figures lack the "extras" that make painting Rackham miniatures time conusuming. I also found that the detail of the faces on the humans is pretty shallow, so they will be a bit more of a challenge.

Can't wait to see what you've done w/ the Alkemy starters. I was surprised at the true 28mm scale.

Anyways...finished up the Soul Grinder Sunday morning as seen in the other post. He was slated for ebay and sold w/in 7 hours @ a Buy it now price of $150. Need to increase my fee next time.

Regardless I guess this makes me "Pro Painter" now since I can say I've actually sold one of my painted minis.

This morning/last night I worked on an Eldar figure. I donated my painting time as a prize for the local Cincinnati Game group (mostly 40K). It was a raffle held for everyone who pre registered for their tournament on May 18th.

here is the WIP. I should finish it tonight.

Finished my Infinity April painting vow (invincible w/HMG) and continued to work on my Alkemy May painting vow. First highlight on the cloth on the Triadic troopers, and base coat of flesh.
