I didn't even notice there was a larp section on here, so I figured I'd post something! I play Madrigal (actually, just went to a winter revel about 2 weeks ago =D) and The Calling, and have NPC'd NERO Avendale several times (I have friends who staff it) as well as helped write/run/PC several smaller local larps on local campuses. These are all located on the East coast, mostly connecticut and Mass. So who else larps, and what/where do you play?

man I totally missed this thread!
a long time ago, I LARPed some White Wolf through the Camerilla (sp?)
I played Vampire for like two weeks, and Mage for a couple of Months. Then I discovered the flaws of the Cam...most people just paid their money or whatever and got super-ultra powerful characters even though they sucked at actually role playing.
I also LARPed something called Amber Diceless Roleplaying at a convention many years back. I was killed with a pen. Now that was bullshit!

Amber was a ton of fun, but we never played it as a LARP. I still go back and read the Zelazny books from time to time. The first Gen Con I went to Zelazny was suppose to be there, but died a few weeks before the Con.

I never read the books, I was talked into the LARP by a friend (he swears he thought is was going to be a card-based system...something about the story using cards)
It just ended up sucking. Spent three and a half hours trying to resolve the goals I was working on, just to be stabbed in the face with a pen. totally ridiculous!

The Amber diceless game was written for the fans of the books. There are 10 main books and a few short stories based in the Amber setting. The first 5 books are based around Corwin, and the last 5 are based around Corwins son, Merlin. Each of the books are short, around 100 pages.

Nice! Should've guessed that before I signed up.
