Since no one has posted anything here yet, I thought maybe I'd give a rundown about Killer Bunnies. This game is a super game to play if you have a group of gamers that enjoy playing card games with a very random aspect.

So have you ever had the urge to hit a bunny over the head with a whisk? What about run them over with a train?? Or even send them to outer space in a UFO??? Well here's the game that let's you do all that and more! The ultimate goal of the game is to be the person who has the Magic Carrot. The Magic Carrot is determined by flipping over carrot cards and the person who has the carrot on the bottom of the pile is the winner! In order to have a carrot card though, you must have a living bunny. Without the living bunny, your carrots are given to the person who has the most money on the table. So the goal of the game is to keep your bunny alive, get carrot cards, kill everyone else's bunnies, and have the most money in the end. You can win without having any money at all, but if you can get to the end with the most money, you will be swimming in everyone else's carrots as you claim them for victory.

So there are lots of ways to play this game. You must have the Blue Box set (which now includes the yellow booster) in order to get started because it have the carrot cards and the majority of the bunny cards. Then there are several booster boxes that can be added. The booster boxes that can be added are: Red, Violet, Orange, Green, Twilight White, Stainless Steel, Perfectly Pink, Wacky Khaki, Onyx, and Kinderbunnies. Kinderbunnies is designed for the younger crowd where bunnies don't actually die. They are just knocked out because they had too many little kids crying about their bunnies dying. It can be added into the regular boosters though. So each of the booster boxes add a new element to the game. If after playing the game, you dream up a new card idea, add Bunny Blanks to your collection and design it yourself! Here's the rundown of what each booster adds.

Red: New Red Bunnies that have special powers. The Rooney’s Weapons Emporium which
gives players a chance to buy used weapons. Defense cards to help boost your
bunny's defenses.

Violet: The beginning of Specialty Bunnies with the power to play two cards a round.
Cards to force players to return carrots to the deck. Cards to prevent bunnies
from abduction. Cards to allow a player to see the top 5 carrot cards that will
NOT win the game.

Orange: New Specialty Bunnies! Introducing Pawns which are helpful with cards that have
a background image of P's and they count towards bunny triplets. The new Pawn
market to buy pawns and to buy back dead bunnies. Double Free Agent Bunnies
that count as two bunnies, but die like one.

Green: New Half colored bunnies that can be two colors at once. Introducing Zodiac
Cards. A card to move bunnies around the bunny circle. The Zodiac Terminator
and much more.

Twilight White: More Half colored bunnies and two more pawns. Lost of new ways to kill
and defend your bunnies. A special card called "The White Stuff." You've
gotta play the game to understand that one!

Stainless Steel: Introducing Super Bunnies which allow you take two turns each round!
More defense, cabbage, and water cards. Weapons whose strength depend
on the day of the month!

Perfectly Pink: New Pink bunnies. The start of Navy recruitment cards. A new pink
pawn. Blanche, a card that turns any bunny into a free agent.

Wacky Khaki: A tribute to the military, this box includes more military cards. More
half colored bunnies. Colored chips are introduced. New military focused
Run cards.

Onyx: The newest and final booster box. Includes Celebrity Bunnies. I haven't played
with this box yet, since it was just released at Gencon this past weekend. If you
have details, feel free to post them!

Would someone who enjoys say Munchkin and kings blood like this game? My GF only plays a few board games and she enjoys some card games, and I am trying to find more she would enjoy.

Actually, your gf would love this more than Munchkin. The thing with Munchkin is that there is a lot of "Screw you" in it...in Killer Bunnies, it's more like "Screw everyone, including myself"

There is a lot more of thought that goes into Killer Bunnies than Munchkin...at least in my opinion! mrgreen

I haven't played Killer Bunnies with most of the expansions - the one thing I didn't like was it felt like the winner was still fairly random - you increase your odds, but you never really know. I guess it is both a good and bad thing.

I think our play-group really likes the fact that in the end, there is still an element of luck in the game. That way if someone got ruined and teamed up on, there is still a chance they could pull it out in the end.

Plus it puts more focus on saving your own rear instead of just hammering your opponents. Which I like!

I prefer games that have the luck element. I tend to find that I either get ignored or completely ganged up on in a lot of games. As long as I can save my own bunnies, there's a chance I can win. To me that makes it worth sticking it out until the game is over. There are too many games where you know who the winner is after ten minutes and the rest of the game is just dragging out the inevitable. With this one, I actually remain interested until the very end.

I also think that your GF would enjoy this one bilesuck. It's a lot like Munchkin, but different enough to give you another option of a game to play instead of always playing the same thing all the time.

I think she'll like it. My wife LOVES this game. We don't have the last few expansions yet but it's a crazy fun game. You might also try Chez Geek (or one of its derivatives).
