Hi, I got to play a demo of this game from Kain and crew at Gencon and thought it was really promising. It played well, with some interesting mechanics, and the minis were really smooth. So I get back home and browse the website and my interest continues to grow - great visuals, strong story, interactive scenarios and community. So I visit the online store and promtly get my bubble burst. Great googly moogly! 10-12 EUROS per fig!?! And they're made of plastic right?

Are there North American (even Canadian, fingers crossed) carrying this game? and if so are they really charging $20-30 per mini? I really like what I've see so far from this game, and would love to get get into to it but that price, wellBrick wall

The warstore has it, at the "standard" warstore deals.

Wave three is in fact $22 for a mini. It was a mistake and it's not something they are ever going to do again...at least that is what I've been told! mrgreen

The war store sells the stuff, Warpath games distributes the game, and I think ACD will also distribute. The price is a little high, but from what I heard this is going to change in the future. There will not be another single model to a wave anymore. A guy from Kraken, I think it was Joss, said that it cost them just as much to do the three models in wave 2 as it did the single model from wave 3.

Yeah, I took a class with Jeremie after Gencon (one of the owners) and he said the future will be 2 character minis in a box, rather than 1, for the same price. He also dropped hints as to the future factions that will be coming up - he pointed to the card of the summoned demon that is the LE for the Jade Triad - its card has two faction symbols - one will be a new faction (what happens if the summoned demons in the world weren't so happy about being slaves???).

He also said Alliance will be distributing the game - which is very good news indeed.

New faction(s)?! eek Perhaps there will be something to do with the Naashti (see fluff about Mornea on kraken's site). It's stated that they "disappeared," but who knows.

There will be a total of 8 factions when all is said and done. I talked with Joss at GenCon, and he made the comment that there are 4 elements and currently there are 2 armies linked to earth and fire is currently unrepresented.

We are carrying it/selling it here just outside Chicago as well. And the wave 3 fig is only $20 here... even before mail order discounting. wink

The figure price is a little high, but so is the problem with imported stuff. I'm hoping the strength of the game and the uniqueness of the figures carries it, or I have about $1000 worth of plastic that is gonna be sitting on my shelves for a while...

But like I said, I'm pretty confident in the product.

Luckily for me i bought Alkemy on sunday during gencon so it was basically getting the character AND the LE model for free. But i can definitely see where it might be seen as a lot of cash for one mini, rivaling even EE. Though it's good to hear that they will fix this and start to package two per pack!

Indeed... No more single human-sized figure in a smal box. It was a mistake we made. We won't do it again. So further characters to be released will be packed by two. You will then have two minis for approx. 22-25$... way more interesting to our opinion.

So... sorry for this mistake. Be sure it won't happen again. As we are also gamers, we know how expensive our hobby can be.

Well, the Naashti are described as being a reptilian race/species. So, if they are eventually included, we could have another game with motherfuckin' snakes on a motherfuckin' table. lol

Thanks for furthering clearing that up for everyone Caherwain, though it wasn't that big of a problem for myself. That's the thing i like about skirmish games is that they are relatively low in cost compared to some other games so i can start a few war bands using $100 US and about $20-30 every two to three months.

thanks all for the feedback! I will probably pick up a starter set, and good news about the other waves being a little more affordable. I guess I need to stop thinking about it as a cost per model and remember all the other stuff you get as well - colour cards, fancy packaging etc.

I pray you are right. Lots of snake-hate here in C3! evil

can i ask, did i have anything to do with the snake hate?

I mean, most tourneys i saw the sankes finished in the bottome half of the tourney. Actually, of the tourneys i saw, i was the only snake player that had regular tourney success.

Also, i would like to thank Mira for her death on the bridge, possibly my single most favorite confrontation moment!
