I am abou 33% of the way done w/ Jeremie B's painting video. Quite well done.
I've been watching the techniques portion so far. The video is subtitled in some spots and voice over in most of the others.
It plays with no problem in my DVD at home and my lap top and looks very good even on a 42 incher. My favorite so far is his Zenithal technique that is used on a Aurlock Toad. He paints the base flesh then hits the model again with his white spray primer. Then colors. Very fast and very good.
I'll continue to post my thoughts on the video. I also picked up the PP video so I will let you know how they compare.

I have had a few odd problems with my copy. There are times the only option I have is the french version (or it plays just french language), and there are other times that the DVD locks up. When it works it has been well worth it.

I had the same thing. If you stop and restart you get only French. You need to always go back to the root menu. Select the English Option, then select the section you want. FF works too. I haven't had any freezes though.

The funny thing on my lap top, no matter what language I selected on my laptop it always played french. Sometimes the menu option would be in english, but the video was always french. My french language skills are ok enough that I understand enough to get the general idea of what he was talking about, but not the entire message.

If you type in his name on you tube you should be able to find a bunch of instruction videos. I am not sure how different they are from the DVD, but it cannot hurt.

I have yet to open my copy but have heard good things about it and am looking forward to it. Plus Jeremie took us to lunch on saturday and hung out in the booth which should make it more enjoyable watch knowing what a great and humble guy he is!

I picked-up Jeremy's video from the Kraken booth, as well, based on the reviews from several other folks who told me it was "the Bomb". :)
I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, and won't have much of a chance until next week most likely.
But John, your comment about the "Zenithal" technique made me kinda blink a lot and drool like a 2 year-old - are you saying that he just paints the base colors for the flesh (only), then primes the whole fig again in white? How does it work? Wouldn't that ruin what he's already done, and he'd have to start over?
Also, a general question for you (and anyone who bought any painting video) - how do you watch it? No, I know you toss it in the DVD player and hit 'play', but do you watch it while at your painting table so you can try stuff out as you go? Or do you grab a cup of joe and sit on the couch and watch it? Just curious. :)

He hits the figure with a couple of bursts of white above and infront. About 12 inches away. Simulating where light would shine down. The toad warrior with the ax over his head is the one he shows the technique on. In the video I don't believe it is this exact one since it pulls in more yellow. But you can see white on top of the round flesh areas. He strictly does this for large blendable areas. The technique is not for a figure with a lot of small details/areas. http://www.kraken-editions.com/en/alkemy/inhabitants-of-mornea/aurlok-nation/galery/index.htmlI've seen something similar before where you prime black then drybrush or spray white then paint. I've never seen it done over the base coat. I watch the video then take the technique to the table. However, I do understand a lot of what is going on versus having to watch how he applies it.
