Here's another crazy game description by your fun-loving silly card game player. Z-man games has published eight different decks of different B-movie genres that can all be played separately or together. The object of the game is to create your own B-movie from the cards you acquire. There are Characters, Locations, and Props that actually form your movie. The other players will then send Creatures into your movie to fight with your characters. This would basically be your fight sequences in a movie and typically a character will die from the battle. However, there are Special Effects that can enhance your movie's strength/defense and that can do a lot of random other things. So let me explain a little bit about the different B-movie decks/genres and then give some examples of the cards.
Grave Robbers from Outer Space - This is a Sci-Fi/Horror deck. This deck has cards that take the "rules" of a horror movie into consideration. We all know that if a girl gets naked in a horror film, she'll die; well this deck has a card called "We've seen your breasts, now you must die" that allows the player to choose a female character in a movie and kill that character.
Grave Robbers II: Skippy's Revenge - Another Sci-Fi/Horror deck. They weren't able to include all the horror cards in the first deck, so they made a second one. And who is Skippy? Skippy the Wonderdog is a character that can be found in every deck. Skippy takes on the genre of whatever the deck is and typically has some kind of crazy or funny ability.
Cannibal Pygmies in the Jungle of Doom - This is an Action/Adventure deck. You will find cards that reference movies like Indiana Jones series. For instance, the Ark of the Covenant is a prop that makes any creatures you play more powerful as long as the Ark is in your movie.
Kung Fu Samurai on Giant Robot Island - This deck is based on Asian B-movies, which includes anime. This deck has funny cards like the special effect "Bad Dubbing".
Bell-Bottomed Badasses on the Mean Streets of Funk - This deck is a 70's Action deck. This deck has a lot of references to Soul and whether you're a Brother or a Sister. In my experience, this deck really requires another deck to be mixed with it in order for it to work properly.
Berserker Halflings from the Dungeon of Dragons - This deck is a tribute to fantasy movies with references to the world of gamers in general. It has cards like "Way too pretty elf" and "Big monster who turns out to just be misunderstood".
The Scurvy Musketeers of the Spanish Main - This deck is dedicated to Pirate movies! ARRR! Swashbuckling and Traitorous Musketeers can be found here.
Bushwhackin' Varmints out of Sergio's Butte - The newest deck is dedicated to westerns. I have not played this deck yet, but it has things to be expected like "Gold Rush" and "Posse".
All of these decks are made to mixed up and played together. The more decks you mix, the more players you can have. I would not suggest playing with only two people, because then you are strictly picking on each other. The best games are played with at least four people. It is like Munchkin and Killer Bunnies, but the movie quotes on each card and the funny combinations you put together to form your movie add another great aspect to card gaming. You can just laugh about what kind of movie you're creating or just try to sabotage someone else's movie. In the end, someone will "Roll the Credits" and the game will be over. The person with the largest movie strength will win. Check out these games in more detail and view sample cards at
Z-Man Games.
On a little side note, I love this game, but I am dying to see Z-man games take the risk to put out a Porno deck, because I think that it would just be hilarious!
Gaming is more of a fact of life rather than a hobby.
