I see in the latest Alliance Alert that the distributor has a number of the Alkemy miniatures at 75% off. In my limited experience that can indicate they are dropping a line.

I know Alliance is but one games distributor in the U.S., but it is a decent sized player. It also supplies a heck of lot of game stores around here.

Indeed Alliance dropped the game.
Alkemy is not yet enough developped inside US to them to justify distribution.

It is sad as it was only 6 months since we started work with them and they didn't really let a chance to us.
Things will be tougher now but not impossible as we still have 3 distributors in US (ACD Distribution, Warpath Games and E-figures) and maybe a new one soon.

Thanks for your concern by the way. And don't worry, the game isn't dead mrgreen (not when Genesis in english is about to be ready !)

Forza Alkemy ! (as told in italian razz )

I'm just glad to see ACD still on the list. The LGS only works with Alliance and ACD...

It's funny, all the game stores in this area dropped Alliance and moved to getting thier stuff from the War Store. They found that shipping costs were more reasonable, shipping happened on time, costs were the same or better, items were in stock and overall service was better. I am not worried about Alkemy in the US as long as TWS continues to support it.

Word was at the LGS that two distributers dropped Alkemy arguing that Alkemy was not honoring their release plan. Saying that we're currently getting wave 5 gear and we're supposed to be on Wave 12. ?????

Wave 12????

Either those distributers are holding ALkemy to an unrealistic timetable, making up their own release schedule or something.

That's bad news for me, as my store only deals with Alliance (out of the US). Unless one of the Canadian distributors also carries Alkemy?

Thanks for the honest and timely response. Just more business for Miniaturemarket.com from me I guess.

100% false.

Alliance dropped us after only a few months. Our other distributors appear to be very happy with us. In fact i sent out a restock to the Warstore this week.

In an ideal world we have new mini's every month. Thats just not happening.
Kraken is not going anywhere and they have a lot of things in the works.

We have never given exact release dates for a reason. Delays happen, problems come up.

Just hang around and see what happens.

If the distributors become impatient then we will set up a US store if need be! (or direct you to online stores that carry Alkemy like miniature market and the warstore)

I hope to be able to keep people updated better, but i knew feb and march would be busy for me with school. I will see about trying to keep in touch on the forums more often.

Was there a reason why Alliance said they were unhappy?
I'd like to correct the LGS owner such that false rumors don't get spread around the area.

Alliance wants product that moves quickly and does not use much warehouse space. They have dropped a lot of lines in the last few years. They refuse to pick up lines like the miniature building authority for similar reasons. I don't know the specifics in the case of Alkemy, but it's safe to say they did not like the turnover rate they were getting with the product.

Our local shop rep must hate us. I read this thread and our shop asked their alliance distributor about this. He stated it was not on sale and hadn't heard about them no longer carrying it.

Makes me sad cry

tough news brodee, what store in OKC? I get down their once in awhile to visit family around Edmond.

Just as another side note I have recently sent a restock to ACD, so the others distributing Alkemy are still involved.

I think a nice revival is coming with Genesis and Wave 5.

Is there an ETA on either of those? My locals and I have been waiting for the "full rules" before investing much effort.

nothing firm.
will check with Joss or possibly he could post here.
I figure it will be much easier to promote the game with a few more releases and the book.

Just wanted to jump in here and give you all an update on availability of Alkemy in the United States.

E-Figures Distribution, ACD and Warpath are all distributing and RESTOCKING Alkemy. I know for my part we have no intention of discontinuing this game line. (Especially seeing how more then half my staff play it)

Displaced Retailers who cannot obtain Alkemy from their current Distributor can contact any of the top three Distributors using the information below.
