Here's the WEGS GenCon 09 schedule. Yup... Only three games!

Two are being run under the smokin' TTG banner! The other one is a free event run on Weds. night! For those interested, we'll most likely be doing a private event at the Canterbury like we did last year. Details on that will be posted here in July or so.

Here's the GenCon details:

=======================================
The Wickedly Errant Game System returns to GenCon!
=======================================

We have a limited event schedule as we’ll be spending most of our time running demos at the GameWick Games booth. If you’re interested in seeing what WEGS, the Wickedly Errant Game System is all about, swing by for a demo. We’ll post our demo/booth news when we get closer to the con!

Here’s the WEGS event menu for GenCon. Two events are hosted by the Table Top Gamers!

(Event ids are listed, but check out the GenCon site for up-to-date registration info.)

Wednesday, 9 pm
Free event by GameWick Games!
(RPG0903944)
The Tale of the Trojan Pig
A party of foolhardy sword-n-sorcery heroes lay hidden inside the belly of a wondrous wooden pig that sits, as a gift, in the courtyard of the evil Troll King’s keep. As they await nightfall and their chance to sneak out and raid the castle from within, the party suddenly realizes they’ve forgotten one important thing: nobody packed the weapons! This isn’t the stuff that legends are made of, but it will be a wicked little intro to WEGS!

Thursday, 9 pm
A Table Top Gamers event!
(RPG0903949)
Keep on the Badderlands: Minotaur Meat!
A stalwart band of sword-n-sorcery heroes are hired to rescue a wealthy merchant’s daughter from the dreaded labyrinth of the Minotaur! Those who dare enter become dazed and confused, so it's up to the party to pull it all together, rescue the maiden and find their way back out (all the while hoping to avoid the 800 pound Minotaur lurking about)! Get wicked with WEGS! Old skool dungeon fun with a brand new set of dice under the hood!

Friday, 9 pm
A Table Top Gamers event!
(RPG0903962)
Dwarf Walks Into A Bar
A rag-tag assortment of adventurers are having a real slow night at the Tongue of Dung, a seedy, cut-throaty tavern in the convict-infested village of Ikkspatt. In one dark corner, a drunken Dwarf slumbers. In the other, the Goblin chieftain Borkfu and his gang are getting rowdy. Keep one hand on your tankard and the other on your hilt, it’s gonna be one of those nights. A great intro to WEGS, the Wickedly Errant Game System!

Indy here we come!

Smells like Gen Con, folks!

GameWick Games is booth 1732.

The booth is diagonally across from WotC and next to Crazy Egor.

We'll be demo-ing and all that usual jazz.

So, swing on by for some WEGS sweetness!

Just want to shoot out a quick note of thanks to all those who jumped into one of our events!

Tale of the Trojan Pig
Half of the party fled from the final encounter, leaving but four heroes to finish off the Troll King and his minions! Luckily, the heroes had a Nekromagiker with them to lead the way out!

Minotaur Meat
The party was sent into the caves of the Minotaur to rescue a merchant's daugher. In the final encounter, the party accidentally killed the merchant's daughter who had been transformed into a giant rat by the Minotaur... Luckily, they had a Nekromagiker with them to reanimate her... Not quite the happy ending!

Dwarf Walks Into A Bar
One of the player characters, an Elf Ranger, decided to fire the first shot at the Goblin Chieftan Borkfu and his gang. After that it was all down hill... Borkfu did bite the bullet by the end, but most of his family members were still alive!

Tale of the Trojan Pig
It was actually half the players leaving the table (one really just wanted a demo and a few others said they had to get up early) rather than half the party fleeing the encounter but it worked out the same way.

Minotaur Meat
It also helped a lot that the Nekromagiker rolled 77 and 44 on his two castings of bone shaker against the Minotaur (and friends).

Dwarf Walks Into A Bar
The Elf Ranger decided to fire the first shot on inning 1 (well, aim on 1 and fire on 2) giving not much time for interactions so a lot of the players helped each other more from necessity or "enemy of my enemy" than from ay sort of cohesiveness. The Gnobbit Trickster almost got the sword around inning 5 but was LAP'd. The final inning had one ranger shoot the warrior and the warrior and trickster spoint battling to see who grabbed the sword (the trickster ended up with it). One more inning and the Gnobbit Trickster would have been out of the bar with the sword.

As usual, all of the games were a blast.

I don't know, Wilcoxon, Tale of the Trojan Pig smells like desertion to me!

Forgot to mention that in Minotaur Meat, the man-at-arms npc was a 5/55 Warrior. The Wife of WEGS played him for all his worth, but he bit it in the end. I think this is a great way to introduce folks at the base level: give them a single "friendly" Warrior or Ranger minion to play and their Attack Forms. Instead of Rank bumps, give them additional Wound chips and/or a half dozen spoints.

Sue had a great time playing the stripped down Ark (though she would've prefered jumping in as a power player).
