Ok, so you might be reading over the forums and asking yourself "What the hell does that phrase mean???" or "Why does kain reference the power of the red sunglasses?"
Well...here be treasure...at least in the form of definitions of the most common phrases and words on the TTG forums...
Our first Entry:
Rock Face A phrase used to signify that something incredible is happening. There are a lot of ways this phrase can be used.
I just got my face rocked! or
Dude, that army list is going to rock face! There are two "modes" of rocking face. First, is to be on the receiving end. If you are getting your face rocked, you are caught off guard by something extremely awesome. If you are rocking face, you are producing something extremely awesome, which will normally catch someone else off guard.
ExamplesMan, that Killer Bunnies Game just rocked my face! In this example, something happened that I really did not expect happened in the killer bunnies game. In the general context, this would be something that might have cost me the game.
BAM! I rocked his face with my 500 lazcannons! In this example, I did something my opponent/the game did not expect, and ended up really surprising my opponent. Obviously, 500 lazcannons would rock some massive face!
Dude! Rock Face tomorrow at the Rogue Trader! In this example,
Rock Face is used in a method of wishing someone good luck or hoping they pull off a massive win.
Rock Face! Finally, the term alone is an extremely cool way of saying something so exceptionally awesome. It is a much manlier way to say "woohoo!" or "wow!" or "woot!"
Obviously, Table Top Gamers is rocking face!
Red SunglassesThis is a reference to the fact that I am always wearing a pair of awesome red sunglasses. There is a incredible rumor going around that Kain is actually the sun glasses, and the body wearing them is nothing more than a lifeless husk animated by the awesomeness of the red sunglasses. I can assure you that is not true, but if you are a part of this community long enough, you will see a reference to them...just so you know.
Trust me, the sunglasses are obvious and easily noticed.
Red Sunglasses Rock Face!
Tossin' Minis!Long long time ago, back before the fall of Confrontation, there was a little tournament. This was the first ever English National Championship for Confrontation 2 which was held at Gencon 2004. This is my first real tournament for Confrontation and I was running Lions, which sucked monkey in C2 if you where not running Storm of Light (another discussion entirely) Anyway, it was a pretty rough day for me. I got smoked in 5 games straight, and in my last game I attempted a draw by shooting an arrow at my opponent's chief (Another thing I hated...Battle of the Chiefs...) and I got lucky, and made the shot. I then roll damage, which is a five and a six, the second best roll in the game, and instead of killing the chief, I only light wound him (hardboiled, etc...) and finally...my will caved in. Rage filled my soul, and my mind, and I started picking up my minis, throwing them into my case and yelling at the top of my lungs about how stupid the game was. It was Gencon 2004, and Kain is standing and yelling at everyone
in the entire minis hall...
At the end of the event, after I calmed down some we started bullshitting, and now if anyone refers to "tossin' minis" they are referring to that event at Gencon 2004.
